Sadqa-e-Fitr, or Fiṭrana, is a mandatory charity given before the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer to purify our fasts and help the less fortunate celebrate Eid with dignity. Every Muslim who possesses wealth beyond basic needs must pay it on behalf of each family member.
The amount is based on staple food items like wheat or dates, and scholars set the yearly rate. It should be given before Eid prayer so that the needy can benefit in time. Eligible recipients include the poor, orphans, widows, and those in financial hardship.
